Juventus Football Club announces that an agreement has been reached with Coach Joe Montemurro who, as of today, will no longer hold the position of coach of the Juventus Women's First Team.
The entire club wishes to thank Joe for the work he has done over the last three years, guiding the team to one Scudetto title, two Italian Cups and two Italian Super Cups. The technical leadership of the Women's First Team is temporarily entrusted to assistant coach Giuseppe Zappella.
Montemurro arrived at Juventus in 2021 with significant international experience in women's football, having two titles in Australia with Melbourne City, and one in England, with Arsenal.
At Juventus, he made an immense contribution in terms of ideas, above all that of proactive football. And then, of course, in terms of results, his list of achievements mentioned above, with two excellent campaigns in the Women's Champions League in the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons as well.
Juventus also announces today that it has renewed the contract of Women's Football Director Stefano Braghin, until 30 June 2027.
Mr Braghin said: "I thank Joe on behalf of the whole Juventus family for the passion and commitment he has shown since his arrival at Juventus, but we believe that, in the best interest of the club, an immediate change is necessary. We wish Joe all the best for his professional future.
“Furthermore, I thank the club for their trust in entrusting me with a new phase of this project that I have been involved in since the very first day. In full harmony with the club's strategy, we will work by combining competitiveness and sustainability through the development of young talents and with the support of champions who will transfer experience and a sense of belonging to these colours.
“While aiming to be competitive at the highest level, as our club's tradition dictates, for at least two years, qualification to the UWCL and participation in the relevant Group Stage will be our main objectives, together with the valorisation of our young players and the reopening of a winning cycle as soon as possible.”
