On 29 May 1985, Juventus and Liverpool were almost ready to take the field to play in the European Cup Final. However, shortly after 19:00 a confrontation between supporters led to the loss of 39 Bianconeri lives.
Despite Heysel Stadium being redeveloped in 1995, as the King Baudouin Stadium, Sector Z where the tragic events unfolded was never rebuilt in memory of that night.
It's been 33 years since that fateful event, and even to this day it's impossible to comprehend how fans could go and watch their favourite team play and not return home.
Today, we remember the 39 victims who lost their lives that night, and ensure that the 39 angels of Heysel are still always with us in our thoughts and our prayers.
