Tonight Juventus Women return to the Allianz Stadium to face the reigning European champions Lyon, who raised the Champions League trophy to the sky a few months ago in this same stadium.

Let's discover the French side ahead of Matchday 2.

MATCHDAY 1

Lyon started their Champions League with a heavy 5-1 loss at home to Arsenal. Melvine Malard scored the French side's goal. Juve, on the other hand, opened the group with a 2-0 win against Zurich thanks to goals from Valentina Cernoia and Barbara Bonansea.

LAST SEASON

Last season OL won their eighth Champions League at Allianz Stadium against Barcelona, returning to the throne they had abdicated the previous season, after five consecutive titles. The Catalans had managed to dethrone the French one year before.

On the path that led Wendie Renard and her companions to rewrite their name on the roll of honor, there was a face to face with the Juventus Women in the quarter-finals. In the first leg, at the Allianz Stadium, an unforgettable Juventus success.

In the return leg, on French territory, the hosts' strength shone through.

ON THE DOMESTIC FRONT

Despite having had to deal with several key absences so far, Lyon have kicked off their league campaign strongly and at the moment sit at the top of the table. Five games played, five wins, 15 goals scored, four goals conceded.

This weekend the team led by Sonia Bompastor did not play, so their last match in Divsion 1 was on October 16, a 3-1 success at Bordeaux: Malard, Renard and Lindsey Horan scored. The US international has so far been the stand-out player.
