Juventus Women’s First Team progressed to the group stage of the UEFA Women's Champions League by eliminating last year's semi-finalists Paris Saint-Germain 5-2 on aggregate across a two-legged second round tie.
After the impressive success over PSG, the group stage draw was then made, and it has been decided that the Bianconere’s group stage opponents will be Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Valerenga.
BAYERN MUNICH
From Pot 1 came Bayern Munich, reigning German champions after finishing seven points ahead of second-placed Wolfsburg last season. The Germans started the year with three wins in as many outings (13 goals scored, three conceded) in the league and won the German Super Cup thanks to a 1-0 victory over Wolfsburg.
In last year's Champions League, Bayern Munich were eliminated at the group stage and are yet to play against Juventus Women in a competitive fixture, having faced them in a friendly over the summer.
ARSENAL
There are two previous meetings between Juve and Arsenal, with the English team drawn in Group C from the Pot 2. The two games date back to the group stage of the competition in the 2022/23 season, ending 1-1 at the Allianz Stadium - with goals from Lineth Beerensteyn for Juventus and Vivianne Miedema for Arsenal - and 1-0 for the English club, again scored by Miedema, in London.
The London-based side finished in third place in the Women's Super League last season just five points behind champions Chelsea. Their season in England began with a draw at home against Manchester City, and victories in the Champions League qualifying rounds against Rangers and Rosenborg before defeating Hacken over two legs in the second round to achieve qualification for the group stage, having missed out last season.
VALERENGA
The Bianconere’s final group stage opponent Valerenga have already played 21 matches in the Norwegian championship (with 19 wins, 2 defeats and sitting 11 points ahead of second place).
Valerenga, whose name derives from a district of Oslo, are reigning Norwegian champions and, after last season's elimination against Real Madrid, managed to qualify for the group stage of Europe's top competition by overcoming Farul Constanta and Anderlecht in the qualifying rounds. Once again, the Bianconere have never faced the Norwegian side.
