Before the UEFA Youth League play-off draw, Juventus Under 19 had two certainties: the first was that they would play this round in a single match and the second was that they would play this match away from home.
Now, Paolo Montero's team has one more certainty: that of the the opponent. The Bianconeri will officially play Genk in the play-off match for a spot in the Round of 16, with the the tie to be played against the Belgian team on either 7th or 8th February.
The urn of Nyon put the Belgians on the Bianconeri's Champions League path, as they look to overcome the team who bested both Slavia Prague and Coleraine in the first round and second round two-legged matches, respectively.
PLAY-OFFS EXPLAINED
Unlike last season, this year our Primavera ended the group stage in second place, behind PSG, but ahead of the reigning European and World champions Benfica, knocking them out from the competition. This placement in the standings, however, includes an "extra" knockout round before reaching the Round of 16. The only teams to have qualified to the next round of the competition are the first-placed teams in the eight groups: Milan, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester City, PSG, Real Madrid and Sporting CP. At the end of this play-off, which will involve the eight teams that finished the group stage in second place and the eight teams that won the "Champions Path".
