Juventus Women began 2024 with a trophy as they won the Italian Super Cup against Roma in Cremona on January 7, which allowed Lineth Beerensteyn to continue an excellent run of form on a personal level.
The Guardian - a reputable English newspaper - has listed Lineth in 71st place in their ranking of the world’s 100 best female footballers in 2023. Her position sees her ranked higher than any other Serie A player.
This recognition comes after countless impressive performances and growth both for Juventus and the Netherlands over the past 12 months.
With the Netherlands, Liney played a key role at the Women’s World Cup in the summer, and ended the Nations League as the top scorer, helping her Dutch teammates reach the Final Four stage - which will be played in February.
For Juventus, meanwhile, she scored 14 goals between the back-end of last season and the first part of the current campaign.
All of the above numbers, and more, mean that Lineth is deserving of her place and they are statistics that she will no doubt want to better again in 2024.
