Two games, two wins, six points. Juventus Women have enjoyed a perfect start to the 2023/24 season, and the performance of our Bianconere was recognised by the FIGC after Matchday 2.
Juventus beat Sampdoria 4-1 in their Biella debut, and as many as four Bianconere have since been named in the FIGC's Team of the Week for the second set of fixtures.
Below, we'll look through each of the four.
SARA GAMA
As well as providing the assist for Cristiana Girelli to score our third of the evening, our captain was one of the best defenders in Italy over the weekend and even managed to threaten at the other end, getting three shots off at goal.
MAELLE GARBINO
Along with Girelli and Lineth Beerenstey, Garbino was one of the three players to have had a hand in more than one goal - scoring and assisting. Along with Arianna Caruso, she attempted five crosses.
CRISTIANA GIRELLI
As well as scoring and assisting, like Garbino, Girelli created more chances than anybody on Matchday 2 (six).
LINETH BEERENSTEYN
Not only did she score a brace against Samp, making her the only player to score more than once over the weekend, she was also one of the most threatening players around as she had five shots on target.
