Women International Recap | Azzurre victory, super Calligaris

A recap of the first games involving Juventus Women players with their respective national teams in this April international break.

Italy and Netherlands

The Azzurre emerged victorious in their match-up against the Netherlands, a 2-0 victory giving them the perfect start to their European Championship qualifying campaign. Lenzini, Salvai, Boattin, Caruso and Bonansea were on the pitch for the Italian national team (whose next match is on 9 April in Finland), while Beerensteyn featured for the Netherlands, who next play on Tuesday against Norway.

France

There were smiles for Peyraud-Magnin and Cascarino following France's 1-0 Euro-qualifying victory over Ireland. The French next face Sweden on Tuesday 9th.

Switzerland

Viola Calligaris was the star of Switzerland's triumph against Turkey, netting a brace in a 3-1 wn for her side, who next play against Azerbaijan on Tuesday in their second Euro qualifier.

Bosnia and Herzegovina

There was an unlucky own goal for Gloria Sliskovic Bosnia and Herzegovina's 3-0 defeat in Portugal. They next play at home against Northern Ireland on April 9th.

Canada

Julia Grosso will take the field this evening at 21:30 CEST in the semi-final of the SheBelieves Cup against Brazil. The winner will face either USA or Japan in the final on Tuesday evening.

Nigeria

Joe Echegini's Nigeria registered an important win in the first leg of their match-up against South Africa in their search for a place at the upcoming Paris Olympics. The return leg is scheduled for April 9th.

THE YOUTH

A prestigious friendly for Italy Under-23 against France took place, which ended with the French team winning 4-2. Despiet the loss, it was a memorbale day Juventus striker Asia Bragonzi who scored one of the two goals for the Italian national team.

The Italian Under-19 team were involved in two matches, drawing against Portugal and Switzerland 0-0. The three Juventus players called up - Bellgente, Gallo and Moretti - will still be involved in yet another fixture, against England next Tuesday.

Elsa Pelgander featured for the Sweden Under 19 team, who beat Hungary 3-0 before drawing 0-0 with Romania.
