The Bianconere are Italian Super Cup champions for a second time after defeating Fiorentina 2-0 courtesy of Barbara Bonansea's brace in Chiavari. After the match, the Coach Rita Guarino and her players spoke to Juventus TV. Here is what they had to say:
Rita Guarino: "I asked the team for this type of attitude after the semifinal. The girls responded well, they were very good from the start and we offered a performance worthy of our qualities; each trophy has a particular flavour, this comes from a particular process, which has affected everyone; for us it is further confirmation of what has been done so far. Now we start again with the desire to grow, to always improve beyond the trophies, and to raise our level, as we did today. This is teamwork, which starts from those who take to the field but involves everyone, there is an organisational machine made up of people who, in addition to their skills, show heart and passion."
Arianna Caruso: “They are indescribable emotions, it was important to bring the trophy home, and to do it with a good performance, after the match against Roma. Today the victory is the consequence of a great performance; we work day-after-day and the results are visible. My dedication? To the team, who are my second family "
Cristiana Girelli: “After the semi-final we realised that the right attitude was missing; today we were very good, we had a great desire to win. We have written another page of history and we are really proud; winning is always nice, as is sharing the joys with this group.”
Cecilia Salvai: “Victories must always be won, even when you are considered the strongest team. Today we proved it: our numbers speak for themselves this year too, but to always reconfirm and improve, we must never be satisfied.”
Sara Gama: “We faced two excellent opponents and took home the Cup, all while improving our performance. We showed today that we won with merit, but we are not satisfied because we want to continue to do well in Italy and abroad. We dedicate the victory to all of us, we hope to come out of a difficult moment: it is nice to win a trophy for the first time after not finishing the league.”
