Emissions in the corner

This represents Juventus' commitment to significantly reducing direct and indirect carbon emissions through the consolidation of its decarbonization plan and thanks to measures such as:

  • the self-production of renewable energy;
  • energy efficiency;
  • the promotion of sustainable mobility for fans.

The topic of fans' sustainable mobility is very current because, although not direct emissions, those produced by fans' travel represent the main source of pollution for a football club today. To mitigate these effects, it is necessary to establish an open dialogue with fans and other stakeholders in football and beyond; for this reason, during the 2023/2024 season, we launched some surveys among our fans, in addition to participating in industry events, with the aim of developing ad-hoc projects on the subject.

In parallel with this path, the Club has implemented various initiatives regarding the sustainable mobility of its employees for some time.

Since 2015, we have integrated a certified Energy Manager to guide the development of energy projects and the implementation of a structured Energy Management process. One of the projects carried out concerns the replacement of lamps with LED technology in the stadium, obtaining a reduction in energy consumption of 24% for field lighting and 50% in hospitality areas. Furthermore, since the 2018/2019 season, we have exclusively used electricity from renewable sources.

Starting from the 2019/2020 season, in collaboration with the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, we have started the carbon footprint reporting process, a significant step in our commitment to managing and reducing CO2 emissions. The process began with the monitoring of direct (Scope 1) emissions produced by the mobility of our employees in their commute and of those indirect emissions from purchased energy (Scope 2), adopting, where possible, concrete measures to reduce them and starting a carbon offsetting project and the purchase of carbon credits
