Ahead of Juventus Women’s UEFA Women’s Champions League match against Racing FC Union Luxembourg here are five stats & facts to read up before the big kick-off!
· FIRST MEETING | Tomorrow’s fixture at Vinovo will represent the first ever encounter between the Bianconere and a team from the country of Luxembourg.
· PERFECT PRELIMINARIES | It’s the second time that Juventus Women will play in the UWCL prelimary rounds, with the Bianconere making their bow in the first-ever format in last season’s edition, defeating Kamenica Sasa 12-0, St. Polten 4-1 and Vilazina 3-0 on aggregate in the second round.
· BIANCONERE GOING BOLDLY | Last season Juventus Women achieved their best-ever finish in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, reaching the quarter-finals, narrowly going out to eventual winners, Lyon 4-3 on aggregate, having won the first leg 2-1 in Turin. Here’s hoping that Montemurro’s girls will be able to go one-better in 2022/23!
· GIRELLI GUNNING FOR MORE | Cristiana Girelli finished last season with nine UWCL goals, she’s just two shy of reaching a grand total of 80 goals in all competitions for Juventus Women.
· DEBUT DELIGHT? | New Bianconere acquisitons: Sara Gunnarsdottir, Lineth Beerensteyn, Evelina Duljan could all be in line to make their first-ever appearances for Juventus Women tomorrow night.
