A minute after the narrow escape, Federico Chiesa conjured up the equaliser. On receiving the ball from Alvaro Morata, he broke through the Spezia defence, and face to face with Jereon Zoet, left the goalkeeper helpless.

The goal instilled an even greater sense of determination among the team.

THE COMEBACK

Six minutes later Juve completed the turnaround. When the home defence failed to clear a corner kick, Matthijs De Ligt was on hand to drive the ball through a ruck of players into the net.
