“The team is in good condition. In this period we will play every three games, therefore, it is fundamental to be able to rest.” Just two days after Saturday’s match against Empoli, Massiliano Allegri was back on the podium addressing the media ahead of Tuesday evening’s match against Cagliari.
During his press conference, the Coach provided an update on the condition of the team, the injuries, who will play and much more. Here’s what he had to say.
THE INJURY LIST
“Cristiano Ronaldo is working to get back, we hope to have him ready for Ajax, but it will be difficult. Douglas Costa is in good condition and should be available for that game. Sami Khedira trained yesterday and could be back for Milan. Cuadrado is working well and it's only a matter of time until he's back with the group. I'll see how Paulo Dybala is today, whilst Mario Mandzukic had a bit of a fever so will need to be evaluated. Spinazzola has a problem with his unoperated knee. I believe everything will be fine and he will be available in 15 days. Mattia Perin took a blow to the shoulder so won't be available for Cagliari, but hopefully for Ajax. Andrea Barzagli is back training."
ON KEAN & CAN
“Kean is well and Cagliari will be a good test for his growth. He is a 19-year-old boy with important qualities. Certainly, he needs to learn how to digest the highs and lows of football and continue to improve. Emre is an example of enthusiasm and hunger. After the problem he had at the beginning of the season, he is improving a lot and could play in defence.”
TOMORROW’S FORMATION
“I have to decide whether to play with a three or four-man defence. Cancelo could be deployed in the attack. He is a player of great quality but needs to continue to improve. I have a lot of defenders who are fresh such as Mattia de Sciglio, Caceres and Leonardo Bonucci. We're fine in the midfield for tomorrow.”
THE OPPOSITION
“Tomorrow will be a difficult game, against a side that are strong at home. Cagliari will look to make a good impression and it will be an interesting match. Juventus always has the great quality to bring the best out of players. This is fundamental for the growth of youngsters.”
