With the team scheduled to set off for Rome later today, Massimiliano Allegri addressed the journalists gathered at the Allianz Stadium in the customary pre-match press conferece. The coach praised opponents Lazio, currently second in the Serie A standings, and commented on the events that clouded Tuesday's Coppa Italia match with Inter.
HEAD TO HEAD
“Lazio are enjoying an excellent league campaign this season, it is a head-to-head for second place. [Maurizio] Sarri has gone back to his roots, when his teams stood out for their defensive solidity. Lazio have the best defence in the league, so tomorrow will be a complicated match.
"Sarri is doing a great job, his Lazio are much more solid and their numbers prove it. With ten games left, points are becoming ever more precious. I expect a balanced game.”
TEAM TALK
“I haven't decided on the line-up yet. I'll see after training when I will evaluate [Paul] Pogba and [Leonardo] Bonucci as well as understand how well those who featured in the match against Inter have recovered. [Samuel] Iling and [Enzo] Barrenechea played yesterday with Next Gen, who won an important match, so they won’t be with us tomorrow.”
“[Federico] Chiesa is coming along well, he made a good impact when he came on the other evening, but I still have to decide. Alex Sandro is fully fit, so maybe there will be some changes in defence because they have put in a lot of game time recently. [Federico] Gatti has improved and can continue to improve, this is what we are working towards.
AGAINST ALL FORMS OF DISCRIMINATION
“What happened the other night on the pitch and off it were ugly scenes. What's important is that Juventus has already identified those responsible for the racist insults. Juventus fights against all forms of discrimination and will continue to do so."
