Massimiliano Allegri says his team deserve praise for the way in which they dispatched a tricky customer in Lazio with tonight’s 2-0 win at Juventus Stadium.
The Biancocelesti travelled to Turin as the league’s form team, but a mature and composed display by the reigning champions ensured their eight-game winning streak came to an end.
Speaking to the media after the game: “The lads put in a decent performance tonight and I can only praise them. They showed great maturity against a Lazio side who play good football and are in good physical shape. The numbers from their recent run – 19 goals scored and two conceded - show you what an extraordinary season they’re having.”
Champions League returns to the agenda on Wednesday evening, and Allegri is predicting an entertaining but finely-poised return leg at Monaco’s Stade Louis II.
He concluded: “I still haven’t decided my tactics for Wednesday night. It will be a good game from a technical standpoint, but different from the first. We’ll need to be at the races.”
