Massimiliano Allegri held his traditional pre-match news conference on Saturday before Juventus host Salernitana on Sunday evening, a 18:00 CEST kick-off.

SALERNITANA

“Tomorrow is important because we can achieve our first target for the season. After that, we can think about the Coppa Italia. The next game is always the most important one.

“You have to win your games on the pitch. We can’t afford to be anything less than 100% focused on this match against Salernitana and we’ll show them the respect they deserve. Then may be relegated but they’re still alive and kicking. They also have players who will be keen to show what they can do in these last few matches. We must be very careful and produce a solid performance.

“Juventus need to get back to playing Champions League football, and that was by no means a given at the start of the season. We’ll take stock once the season is over. We must do our best in these last few games.”

TREATMENT ROOM

“We’ll pick the players who are in the best physical and mental condition. [Kenan] Yildiz is recovering from gastroenteritis and he’s lost a few kilos. I’ll assess him and [Federico] Chiesa tomorrow morning. Neither is 100% but I hope to have both available for this game. All the other forwards are fine.

“We’re without Alex Sandro, Danilo and [Mattia] De Sciglio but we might be able to get two of them back for Atalanta. [Tiago] Djalo could end up playing tomorrow with Alex Sandro and Danilo not available. Tiago is better and is training well.”

UEFA PRO COURSE AT CONTINASSA

“I enjoyed myself during the two days of lessons in Continassa for Coverciano students on the UEFA Pro course. They’re always interesting and a great opportunity for everyone to learn. I had no doubt it would be the same this time.”
