Upon watching Juventus fall 2-1 to Hellas Verona on Sunday evening, Massimiliano Allegri urged his players to rediscover the lofty concentration levels that had contributed to their historic fifth successive Scudetto title for the final two fixtures of 2015/16.
The Bianconeri round off their Serie A season with a home clash against Sampdoria next Saturday before locking horns with Milan in the Coppa Italia final on 21 May – a date by which Allegri demanded his side to be back to peak condition as they look to complete an unprecedented domestic double in consecutive campaigns.
“We had the wrong approach to this match,” the Tuscan tactician said of tonight’s encounter at the Stadio Bentegodi. “That said, credit must go to Verona who played well tonight. We on the other hand lacked concentration, lost too many 50-50 challenges and weren’t on the same wavelength for long spells.”
“We had set out to finish the campaign as strongly as possible and now we need to refocus as a group in the build up to the all-important Coppa Italia final.”
