Juventus Women's first-ever US Tour ends with silverware coming home. The Bianconere beat Palmeiras 1-0 in the final of The Women's Cup in Louisville, Kentucky, to bring the trophy home to Turin.

Chiara Beccari score the game's only goal in the first half, bringing an end to a positive experience in the United States of America.

THE MATCH

The Bianconere started strongly, and Chiara Beccari was one of the standout performers from early on. With just three minutes on the clock, she was found by Sofia Cantore but wasn’t able to take advantage of the chance that came her way.

Beccari again came close before finally, in the last few minutes of the first half, she managed to convert. Put through by MVP Amalie Vangsgaard, Chiara’s first touch was sublime and set her in on goal, then making no mistake in finding the back of the net.

Alessia Capelletti was forced into action at the beginning of the second half, doing well to keep the Brazilians out. Palmeiras kept pressing for a leveller, but it wouldn’t come.

At the other end, Cristiana Girelli came close to doubling our lead on the end of a cross from Alisha Lehmann, hitting the woodwork.

But there were to be no more goals, and our Bianconere start their new era under Massimiliano Canzi with a trophy to take home to Turin.

MASSIMILIANO CANZI'S POST-MATCH COMMENTS

“It’s very important to us [to have won The Women’s Cup], we played against very good teams, especially today’s match which was a very tough game. Either of us could have won the game, and I think we were better in the first half and could have scored more but we did a good job and I’m very happy with the girls’ efforts.

“We gave all we can give, so I’m very happy about that and it’s a good way for us to start the season.

“Now we have two or three days off because in Italy, August 15 is a holiday. So we’ll rest for a couple of days and then we’ll get back to work again.”

AMALIE VANGSGAARD'S POST-MATCH COMMENTS

“We keep going, always trying to score more goals. We’ve had a good pre-season and we’ve had some good games, I think we have a good approach to matches.”
