The Bianconere wrapped up 2020 with a 100% record in the league following their impressive 4-1 win over Roma at Vinovo on Saturday afternoon. Cristiana Girelli scored a brace, while Linda Sembrant and Lina Hurtig also got onto the scoresheet.
The Bianconere started off by creating a chance straight away in the third minute of play when a Boattin free-kick into the box fell to Sembrant: the Swede struck it but it was blocked off the line by Swaby. They didn’t need long to find the back of the net however, as Arianna Caruso burst into the box, threaded the ball past her marker to Girelli, who tapped it home from close range. Two more goals, one for each side, then followed: Sembrant fired home from a corner, while Serturini equalised minutes later with a low angled effort. Juventus restored their two-goal advantage in the 36th minute when Girelli rose above everyone else to nod home from the corner.
Zamanian and Hurtig were introduced at the start of the second half, while Rosucci saw her effort from the edge of the box fly over the goal. Play more was more closed than that of the first half, with fewer chances falling to both sides. As such, Guarino opted to bring on Cernoia and Staskova in place of Rosucci and Girelli. Hurtig had her effort denied by Ceasar, while Berti came on for Maria Alves. The final few minutes of action saw the action on both ends of the field: Salvai made a crucial clearance off the line after the ball ping-ponged in front of the goal mouth, before Hurtig added a fourth and final goal of the day. Zamanian played the ball to the Swede on the right side of the box, she burst in and fired an unstoppable angled drive past Ceasar in the 89th minute.
