Week 15 of Talent Track, supporters’ regular guide to the Bianconeri out on loan or co-ownership deals, begins with a look at full-back Christian Tavanti.
Born in Pietrasanta, the 19-year-old is currently plying his trade with Lega Pro Seconda Divisione/A outfit Mantova and showed his attacking qualities as he scored in the Virgiliani’s 2-0 win over Torres on Sunday.
Having commenced his career among Genoa’s youth academy, Tavanti then switched to Juventus in the summer of 2011. Following three years with the Bianconeri, he spent the start of this season on loan at Santarcangelo before joining Mantova on a temporary basis in February.
Gabriel Appelt Pires was another youngster to hit the headlines over the weekend after his fine strike in Livorno’s 3-1 triumph against Ternana.
In his seventh appearance for the club, the 21-year-old secured three critical points towards the Amaranto’s promotion hopes when his bicycle kick flew in off the angle of post and bar with 16 minutes to play.
Appelt Pires is proving a sensation in Tuscany and has already bagged two assists for Livorno this campaign during matches against Brescia and Latina.
Heading over to Switzerland’s Challenge League now, Zoran Josipovic was also on target as his FC Lugano side ran out 3-0 winners over Le Mont LS.
The striker, who possesses both Swiss and Serbian nationality, has had an injury-hit season so far but was able to come through 70 minutes of Sunday’s victory in which he scored the opener.
Josipovic caught Juventus’ eye for his impressive performances with Chiasso and subsequently linked up with the Bianconeri four years ago. The Switzerland Under-20 international also enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at Novara in Serie B last season.
And finally, everyone at Juventus Football Club would like to wish Federico Mattiello a speedy recovery after the youngster underwent surgery on a leg injury sustained in Chievo’s 0-0 draw with Roma on Sunday.
The 19-year-old, who made his Serie A debut for the Bianconeri during November’s 7-0 success over Parma in Turin, only transferred to the Gialloblu on a loan deal last month and will now spend a prolonged spell on the sidelines.
