DERBY D'ITALIA DEBUT

Camoranesi's first Juventus-Inter was the second clash of the two Serie A giants in season 2002-03. In an important fixture at the top of the table, the Bianconeri dominated in part due to an unrivalled supremacy in midfield. Born in Argentina, Mauro had just won his first cap for the Italian national team, making his debut in Genoa in a friendly against Portugal. Among his opponents against the Nerazzurri were a large group of fellow South Americans: Javier Zanetti, Ivan Cordoba, Andres Guglielminpietro, Gabriel Batistuta and Alvaro Recoba.

PARTING SHOT

Camoranesi's Turin debut against the Nerazzurri saw his goal seal the outcome. Mauro took advantage of a run down the left flank by Nedved. Pavel's cross was deflected slightly by Zanetti, allowing the Juventus number 16 to power home from the height of the penalty spot. His shot was struck with all his might and rocketed in under the crossbar. Juve won 3-0, for Camo it was his first goal scored in front of his home crowd in Turin.

HOME AND AWAY

The two head-to-heads of 2007-08 saw Camoranesi score both at the Olimpico in Turin and at San Siro in Milan - goals to be proud of. Juve in that period were objectively inferior to Inter, but in the direct clashes the Bianconeri raised their game and found the determination to outperform their rivals. In the first meeting, Mauro scored the equaliser after Julio Cruz had opened the scoring for Inter. In the second fixture, before David Trezeguet and Maniche also found the net, he was the player that set Juve off on their 2-1 victory with the game's opening goal.
