Barbara Bonansea has renewed her contract with Juventus Women, extending her journey with the Bianconere. After putting pen to paper, here’s what she had to say about her emotions.
CONTINUING HER BIANCONERE JOURNEY
“Eight seasons is the longest time I have spent with a club in my career, so this contract renewal is special in that it will take me into my ninth season with the club and mark the longest period of my career at one team.
"Honestly, it doesn't feel like that many years have passed, there have been a lot of changes, so I don't really feel like that much time has passed."
HER YEAR
“I am very satisfied, we have formed a good group, and we have had a very good league campaign so far, but the best part is yet to come. During last season I went through a less positive period on an individual level for the first time, there was something I was missing, but I'm glad I overcame it. When you feel good, play better and have fun, life is happier and consequently your performance on the pitch improves as well.
THE HIGHLIGHT OF HER TIME IN BIANCONERO
“The first game at the Allianz Stadium because it was something crazy. It was one of those dreams upon arriving here that I hoped to fulfil: to play in Juventus’ stadium, my favourite team... It was an incredible experience to share with my teammates and all the fans, a feeling like no other. But we experienced so many good moments together that to mention just one would perhaps be an understatement.
THE BOND WITH THE CLUB
“Being part of the history of Juventus? I've never thought about it too much but it certainly makes me very proud. This club is something really great, it is a club that leads by example. To be connected to the name Juventus Women is strange but at the same time beautiful.
"I play football because I like it, because I have fun and I am happy if people or younger girls can see me as an example to follow. I will always try my best to help those who watch me to understand that by giving everything you have you can achieve your dreams.”
