Leoardo Bonucci believes the Bianconeri got their tactics spot on for this evening’s 2-0 win over a strong Lazio outfit.
Defensive discipline and maturity were required to gain the better of a side approaching the encounter on an eight-match winning streak, and the stopper says he and his team-mates displayed both in abundance.
Speaking to the media after the game, Bonucci said: “We saw a great Juventus performance tonight. We kept it tight, put our bodies on the line and then struck when in space.”
Along with an important clean sheet, the 27-year-old also had his third Serie A goal of the season - a fine solo run and finish - to celebrate on a night to remember.
“The goal? I received the ball from Andrea [Pirlo], saw our strikers’ movements and noticed that nobody was coming to close me down. I thought I’d go for it and thankfully it came off.”
