Leonardo Bonucci was full of superlatives regarding the Bianconeri’s winning mentality as they chalked up their 16th Serie A success of the season with tonight’s 3-1 victory over Milan at Juventus Stadium.
Three minutes after Luca Antonelli's equaliser for the Rossoneri, Juventus' number 19 hooked Carlos Tevez’s header goalwards to hand the hosts a lead at the break before the Old Lady then stepped up a gear to put Il Diavolo to the sword in the second half.
Speaking to reporters in the mixed zone, Bonucci began by praising the squad’s attitude: “We showed great character to react after conceding. This team knows how to respond, dig deep and strike at the right moment.
“Irrespective of Milan’s troubles from corners, we need to be decisive when attacking the ball. We worked a lot on our set-pieces during the week and tonight it paid off.”
The Bianconeri now find themselves ten points clear of closest challengers Roma at the summit of Italy’s top flight but the defender, who bagged the winner against the Giallorossi back in October, stated that Juventus certainly won’t be getting carried away with the advantage.
He concluded: “There’s still a long way to go in the season and in order to carry on winning, we need to remain hungry. We’re a machine and we want to keep motoring on.”
