Leonardo Bonucci hailed the strength of Juve's squad after the Bianconeri sealed a third straight Coppa Italia crown with a 2-0 victory over Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.
“It was a tough match but we went about it the right way. We were back to our usual selves today after slipping up on Sunday,” the defender began.
“This cup success is down to the hard work of the whole squad. The Coppa Italia was an opportunity for the guys who were playing a bit less to show what they can do and we all did our jobs well. Credit must go to the club for putting together such an exceptional group of players - and we did our part by showing grit and determination.”
ONE DOWN, TWO TO GO
“We have to deal with one target at a time. Today was the first and we've got it in the bag; now we have to wrap up the Scudetto.
“Losing to Roma did us good because we looked laboured and listless in the second half on Sunday. We lacked a cutting edge.
“Of course it was big news that Juve didn't play to their usual level because everyone's used to such high standards now, but we learnt from it because we got our approach spot on today.”
NETO IN FINE FETTLE
“There's always a chance the opposition will have opportunities to score, especially with all the quality Lazio have up front, but we played well and Neto gave us a helping hand – he was in fine fettle tonight!”
CROTONE NEXT
“We have another final to play on Sunday – another one-off match. We must secure our second target of the season and then we're all off to Cardiff!”
