Gigi Buffon claims the Bianconeri’s conviction was key to coming away with all three points against Napoli this evening, enabling the team to treat the fans to a final 2014/15 victory at Juventus Stadium ahead of the ensuing Scudetto celebrations.
Speaking to the media after the game, the captain began: “We took to the field with the usual conviction. When everything’s going well and you know you’re a great group, things become easier and you’re able to handle the absence of important players.”
After rounding off their home campaign with a win, the champions will now recharge their batteries for three days ahead of their remaining fixtures with Verona and Barcelona.
“We’ll now enjoy these deserved three days off after a stressful period. Then we’ll start the countdown for our most important game in the last 12 years. Tonight, though, we’ll celebrate – we want to share these achievements together.”
On the Champions League final, Buffon added: “It will be a difficult game against a formidable side, but we’ve got the odd weapon of our own and we’ll stand toe to toe with them and give it a good go. Of course if they’re all at 100 per cent it will be a very tough task for us, but we’re here and we won’t be holding back.”
