Gigi Buffon says the Bianconeri will need to show a greater level of responsibility if they are to get their season back up and running following this evening’s defeat to Roma.
The captain, speaking after the 2-1 reverse in the capital, admits that the arrival of several new faces means it will take time for things to gel following a host of comings and goings over a busy summer in Turin.
“Responsibility”, Buffon claims, is the key word and he is confident that if Juventus begin to demonstrate that as a group, they will soon get back to winning ways.
He said: “When you play for Juventus you always aim to win, but even when it doesn’t happen you need to offer more than we showed today.
“When there are a lot of changes made to a side it’s normal to drop a few points and perhaps for some worry to creep in at the start. But we’ve got lots of new and quality players, so now it’s necessary for everyone to take on a greater sense of responsibility, starting from when we regroup next Monday.
“If we show this kind of responsibility, there’ll be nothing to worry about and we’ll get back putting on a show that fits in with our history.”
