17 January 2024
Juventus Women’s Italian Cup match away at Sampdoria on January 17 will always be remembered as a big one for Arianna Caruso. The game in Liguria marks her 200th appearances with the Bianconere, becoming the first player in the club’s history to reach the milestone.
Because back on August 27, 2017 in Pianezza, where it all began, Arianna was on the pitch. She even scored twice that day.
Caru is the first player to hit 200 appearances for the Bianconere, just as she has been the first to hit other milestones in the past. With Juventus, Arianna is always hungry to win.
But this time, for once, we’re going to have her speak instead of us.
Dear Juve…
Dear Juventus,
I don’t know how it’s going to go
I do know, though, how it has gone.
Seven years ago an ‘Old Lady’ took me by the hand,
Developed me, pampered me, protected me.
Juventus - what a dream.
How do you explain a shirt?
How do you transcribe emotions while still getting goosebumps?
At 17, your view of the world is that you’ll always be a teenager, with clear ideas of course, but with that carefree attitude of trying to fly for the first time on the wings of enthusiasm, without giving too much thought to the future.
Nobody could have imagined how far we would come together, how many steps I would take with those black and white stripes, that I would play two hundred times.
Together we’ve won a lot, and we’ve been angry when it hasn’t happened
But I never forgot what it meant to wear your shirt.
Because Juventus is something you wear, and once you do, you never take it off.
Like that wedding dress you always dreamed of, that you thought you’d never get.
Juve is the end-of-year dance, the date you’ve been waiting for your whole life, the one you won’t have clear photographs from because you never once stood still.
Juventus is a journey that takes you so far away but still smells like home.
Mine has lasted 2557 days, enriched by 12 unforgettable trophies for which I fought every second, until the end.
Special thanks to those who have helped me on my path, to those who have passed through, to everybody near and far.
To my family, the fuel of the engine that moves the world.
And finally, thanks to my dear Juve,
My irreplaceable guide on this incredible journey.
Arianna.
