Tuesday brought a magical evening of fundraising football as the ‘National Singers’ and ‘Champions of Research’ contested the ‘Partita del Cuore’ exhibition match at Juventus Stadium.
While the latter team featured Juventus president Andrea Agnelli, vice-president Pavel Nedved (who graced the game with two goals and two assists), manager Massimiliano Allegri and president of FCA and Exor, John Elkann, the former included celebrities such as Eros Ramazzotti and Neri Marcoré, legendary ex-players Alessandro Del Piero and Edgar Davids, as well as Ferrari’s Formula One duo Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen (three goals).
Fans forming part of a capacity crowd took in an entertaining 5-5 draw, but the best scoreline of all was the significant amount of money raised for Telethon Foundation, a biomedical charity established to research genetic diseases, and Piedmont’s Foundation for Cancer Research.
