The flavor of Japan came to the Allianz Stadium last night for Juve-Roma as Cygames, one of the world's most important entertainment players and sponsor of the back of the Juventus jersey, presented the big match right before Christmas.
To celebrate the night, Japanese-themed motifs were set up around the stadium including an intense show just before kick-off with traditional Japanese drums (Taiko) along with flag bearers who highlighted the light show. It was also accompanied by video on the screens and flames around the perimeter of the pitch symbolizing the dragon that represents Cygames.
It wasn't just around the pitch, however, as a taste of the Rising Sun was experienced in the Agnelli Club with sushi on offer by Japanese chef Junpei Ono who also presented a cooking show pre-match.
Fans were also able to check out the new Cygames commercial and some areas of the stadium were themed with kimono-clad hosts welcoming the arriving Juventini and were given a traditional tengui gift!
Cygames and Juventus announced their partnership last July as the debut of the Cygames on the back of the famous Bianconeri jersey took place during the International Champions Cup on July 22, 2017 against Barcelona in New York.
Cygames is a Japanese leader in the production of video games and part of the CyberAgent group listed on the Tokyo and New York NASDAQ. They have revolutionized the world of video games with an emphasis on mobile gaming. Their most successful game is Shadowverse which has over 10 million downloads and was released in Italy last summer.
