Following Juventus' 2-0 win away at Empoli on Matchday 3 of this Serie A season, coach Massimiliano Allegri, captain Danilo, and Manuel Locatelli gave their thoughts.

MASSIMILIANO ALLEGRI

"We played well against a tough Empoli side. We were never at risk defensively, but we might have scored more goals. We created a lot of chances and we need to be more composed in front of goal, but these things will come as we get further into the season. I'm pleased with how Timothy Weah did after he came on, with Filip Kostic, Manuel Locatelli and Federico Chiesa's goal. Dusan Vlahovic's missed penalty is a pity, but he played very well. Both Arek Milik and Moise Kean also did well. We'll need everybody to play like this all of the time.

"We're not happy to be out of the Champions League, but we want to get back in. To do that, we have to continue like this, working every single day to improve. The team has grown, we're a younger side but we have different characteristics."

DANILO

"There are no easy matches. There are opponents to face, and we knew that Empoli would make things hard for us, just as they did last year. We showed our pride, we wanted to prove that last year was an isolated incident, and that this team has hunger. The boys did well, they all put in that extra effort to get the win."

MANUEL LOCATELLI

"It was vital to win tonight, we came here with last year's bad result in our minds and we only wanted to win. We have to keep going like this, with humility, one step at a time.

"I know Allegri has a lot of faith in me and it gives me confidence. In the end, it's up to me to do my talking on the pitch."
