"We’ll relax for a few hours and then concentrate on Atalanta straight away," was how captain Giorgio Chiellini put it after Saturday’s 1-0 win over Roma at Allianz Stadium, which ensured that Juve will be top of Serie A at the halfway point this season.
And the defender certainly meant what he said, as he – and the rest of the Juventus squad – reported back to the JTC Continassa on Sunday morning to begin preparations for a tricky Boxing Day trip to take on Atalanta (15:00 CET kick-off).
While the players involved against the Giallorossi had a recovery session, the rest of the squad trained as normal outside. During a post-match workout in the gym, Bernardeschi suffered a muscle strain to the adductors of his right thigh and his condition will be evaluated from day to day.
The Bianconeri will train again on Christmas Eve in the morning.
