Determined to get last week’s narrow 1-0 defeat against Spezia firmly out of their system, the Primavera put in a professional performance to dismantle Trapani and run out 4-0 winners in Ivrea this morning.
Despite playing on a pitch hindered by icy conditions, Fabio Grosso’s young guns went ahead on 28 minutes as Younes Bnou-Marzouk finished off a one-on-one situation for his fourth league strike of the campaign.
With 38 minutes on the clock, it was two, King Udoh latching on to Luca Clemenza’s intricate through ball before lobbing the onrushing goalkeeper to give the hosts a commanding advantage at the break.
And the lead remained that way until the 83rd minute when Bnou-Marzouk bagged his second and Juventus’ third with a marvellous finish. Udoh then added the icing on the cake by completing his brace in the dying stages of the game.
Today’s result means the Bianconeri have closed the gap on third-place Spezia to four points. They will next take to the field in a week’s time when Lazio provide the opposition for a crucial Primavera Coppa Italia semi-final first-leg clash in Rome.
