Bianconeri duo Patrice Evra and Paul Pogba played in an emotionally charged atmosphere as Holland payed tribute to the recently deceased Johan Cruyff during last night's friendly with France at the Amsterdam Arena.
The visitors ended up on the winning side through goals from Antoine Griezmann, Oliver Giroud and Blaise Matuidi, with Evra and Pogba featuring for 45 and 87 minutes respectively in the 3-2 triumph for Didier Deschamps’ men.
Elsewhere, Stephan Lichtsteiner’s Switzerland fell to a 1-0 friendly defeat against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin, Alex Sandro’s Brazil drew 2-2 in their 2018 World Cup qualifier with Uruguay and Mario Lemina’s Gabon overcame Sierra Leone by a 2-1 scoreline in Friday’s exhibition encounter.
