Her interventions, her timing, her constant presence in the defensive area on the field will remain in our eyes. But above all, her last two goals will stay with us forever… Scored on two decisive occasions, they were two strikes that few would have ever expected.
We are talking about Petronella Ekroth, a Swedish defender who, today, has parted ways with Juventus Women, after leaving her mark and signing her name in the history books of Juventus Women’s second season in the two most decisive games of the campaign.
"Nella" did, in fact, take advantage of her skills, even on the offensive side of things, both against Verona, in the last league match that delivered the Scudetto to Rita Guarino’s ladies, and a week later, when she unlocked the scoresheet in the final of the Italian Cup against Fiorentina. Two goals and two trophies in two successive weeks by the Bianconere.
Those two goals were the icing on the top of the cake in a season which saw her make 19 appearances, score three goals, and feature on the field for 1487 minutes.
We, therefore, cannot thank the strong Swedish defender enough, and we wish her all the best for the rest of her career.
