World-class. Record-breaker. Football icon and inspiration.
Many words come to mind when thinking of Alessandro Del Piero, none more so than today on the legendary forward's 43rd birthday.
In a Juve career spanning 19 years, the Del Piero story is one of drama, magic and above all record-breaking feats.
Making his Bianconeri bow on 12 September 1993, Alex needed only a week to score his first of 289 goals: to this day the club’s all-time leading tally.
His long-serving loyalty to the Old Lady also saw Del Piero write his name indelibly in the history books for making a record 705 appearances in the black and white.
The striker earnt his place in the hearts not only of Juve supporters, but also an entire country, playing a starring role in Italy’s World Cup triumph in 2006.
Alessandro’s Bianconeri legacy will forever be remembered for its breath-taking strikes, crucial assists and trophy-laden success. It is therefore with great pleasure that everyone involved with Juventus Football Club wishes him many happy returns on his special day.
Happy Birthday, Alessandro Del Piero.
