His decisive interventions in defence have proved a thorn in countless opposition attacks this campaign, one in which Andrea Barzagli played yet another starring role to continue making the Bianconeri’s backline the backbone to their success in securing an historic fifth successive Scudetto title.
The Italy international is celebrating his 35th birthday less than two weeks after being able to toast the club’s 34th Serie A crown, five of which he has won in as many years in Turin.
A true stalwart of the Bianconeri spine, Barzagli has now featured in 75 clean sheets for the Old Lady, the second-highest of any outfield player, since arriving from German Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg in January 2011.
Barzagli will spend his birthday alongside the rest of his team-mates as they gear up for Sunday’s Serie A encounter against Hellas Verona.
Everyone at Juventus Football Club would like to wish Andrea many happy returns on his special day.
