08 May 2019
It’s a #W8NDERFUL day to celebrate Andrea Barzagli. Today, he turns 38 and he will get to celebrate his special day with his Black and White colleagues by returning to training, where he will begin preparation for the away match against Roma.
It’s now understood why Barzagli was born on the eighth day of May – a month where Juventus have won the majority of their Scudetto titles. This year, the number eight seems to be particularly embedded in his destiny.
In eight years at Juventus, ‘La Roccia’ has been crowned a Serie A league champion on eight occasions, in eight consecutive seasons – a feat only achieved by fellow friend, teammate and captain Giorgio Chiellini. And, of course, he is celebrating his 38th birthday – his eighth as Bianconero defender…
How #W8NDERFUL!
That's not all though, Barzaleone has also lifted aloft the Coppa Italia on four occasions, as well as the Italian Super Cup the same amount of times. It’s because of his intuition on the field, his ability to read play impeccably, and his perfect timing when going into challenges that has seen his opponents struggle to get past him on the field of play. It’s because of these attributes that he was aptly handed the nickname ‘The Rock’, and it is also because of this, that he has enjoyed plenty of success during his career in both club and national team colours.
Everyone at Juventus would like to wish Barzagli all the best for his birthday. Have a #W8NDERFUL day!
