Palermo boss Giuseppe Iachini says he will have no problems geeing his men up for the Bianconeri’s visit to Sicily on Saturday evening.
A guaranteed full house will be getting behind the hosts as they aim to extend their six-month unbeaten record at the Stadio Renzo Barbera, and their boss is aiming to reward them with a “perfect display” against the reigning champions.
Previewing the clash earlier today, the 50-year-old said: “These games prepare themselves as far as motivation’s concerned. We’re up against a hugely prestigious opponent, who always cross the white line looking to win. We must put in a perfect display tomorrow night.”
With one eye on Wednesday night’s decisive Champions League return leg clash against Borussia Dortmund, opposite number Massimiliano Allegri is tipped to freshen up his starting XI by resting certain key players.
But Iachini refuted the suggestions of Palermo getting an easier ride tomorrow night, pointing out the Bianconeri’s strength in depth means his team will have plenty to contend with regardless of who gets the nod.
“Whoever starts for them is a top class player and that’s precisely why we’ll tackle the game with maximum respect, looking to put our knowledge into practice. We want to give it a good go, as we always do.”
