Integrity Tour 2024/2025: the fight against match fixing

The Turin leg of the Integrity Tour 2024/2025, the initiative promoted by Lega Serie A, Sportradar and Istituto per il Credito Sportivo e Culturale, now in its 10th edition, was held today, Tuesday, 8 April. As always, the goal of the project is to strengthen the culture of legality in the world of soccer and convey the true values of sport. Two workshops were organized during the day: the first with the First Team at the Training Center of Continassa, and then a meeting dedicated to the youngsters of the Under-20 and Under-17 sides, held at the Allianz Training Center at Vinovo.

The focus of the workshops were on the fight against match fixing, to raise awareness among all players - from the youngest to the most experienced - about the risks and consequences of sports fraud, with the aim of protecting the integrity of the game.

During the encounters, lawyer Marcello Presilla, Head of Integrity for Italy at Sportradar AG, delved into the phenomenon in all its forms, profiling the so-called “fixers” and approaches aimed at football players, which are increasingly widespread through social media and new technologies. The talk also focused on issues related to betting violations and the responsible use of social media.

“It is of fundamental importance to counter or, better yet, prevent a phenomenon like match fixing, which erodes the very principles of sport,” said Cristiano Giuntoli, Football Managing Director of Juventus. “Integrity and fairness are the foundations on which every discipline is based, and Juventus has always been committed to transmitting them to its own members. Meetings like today's, organized by Sportradar, Lega Serie A and Istituto per il Credito Sportivo e Culturale, are invaluable in raising awareness among our youngsters and, through them, public opinion on such a delicate issue.”
