The UEFA Women's Nations League continued on Friday, and a number of Bianconere were in action for their respective countries.
Lineth Beerensteyn was the star of the show, scoring twice as Netherlands beat Scotland 4-0 to top their group.
With Martina Lenzini, Lisa Boattin, Arianna Caruso, Barbara Bonansea and Cristiana Girelli in action for Italy, the Azzurre put in a spirited performance as they fell to a late 1-0 loss to world champions Spain. The loss leaves Italy third in the group behind Spain and Sweden.
Speaking of Sweden, Linda Sembrant was a starter as they beat Switzerland 1-0, while Amanda Nilden was named on the bench.
Elsewhere, Gloria Sliskovic's Bosnia and Herzegovina beat Czech Republic 1-0 to stay top of their group, and Estelle Cascarino's France enjoyed a 2-1 win ove Norway in Oslo.
Upcoming games
The Women's Nations League returns on Halloween - Tuesday, October 31 - but on Saturday Canada and Julia Grosso will be in action against Brazil in Montreal.
On Monday, October 30, Italy and Sweden will do battle at Under-23 level.
