There is only one place to start as we reflect on the first batch of fixtures played by our Bianconere this international break, and it is nowhere other than Sara Gama's final Italy appearance against Ireland in Florence. The game ended without a goal, and our captain was joined by Juventus teammates Cecilia Salvai, Arianna Caruso, Cristiana Girelli and Barbara Bonansea on the pitch.
It was a game wherein the result didn't matter, because all of the focus was on Sara as the curtain fell on her incredible international career.
The other games
In the UEFA Women's Nations League, Gloria Sliskovic and her Bosnia and Herzegovina teammates had a tough time in a 5-0 loss to Sweden, while France beat Germany 2-1 with Pauline Peyraud-Magnin in goal and Estelle Cascarino on the bench.
Lineth Beeresnteyn and Netherland fell to an impressivr Spain side.
Viola Calligaris was in action for Switzerland in a friendly, and they won 4-1.
Away from Europe...
Canada and Julia Grosso got their Gold Cup off to the perfect start with a 6-0 win over El Salvadar.
Latly, Joe Echegini and Nigeria played the first leg of their tie against Cameroon, aiming for qualification for the Olympic Games in Paris. That ended goalless, leaving everything to play for in the second leg.
