A total of eight Juventus players were involved in national team duty on Wednesday, with mixed results for their various teams to see out October's international break.

In the all-important European Championship qualifiers, Serbia took a step closer to qualifying for EURO 2024 in Germany following a 3-1 victory over Montenegro. Filip Kostic was introduced at the start of the second half with the scoreline at 1-1, helping his side earn three vital points as they cemented second spot in Group G. On the receiving end of the very same 3-1 scoreline was Italy in their Group C qualifier against England, with the Azzurri now sitting in third palce in their qualifying group with two matches left to play. Moise Kean featured as a second-half substitute in the loss at Wembley, while Manuel Locatelli and Federico Gatti remained on the bench.

Earlier in the day, the Italy Under-21 side registered an important 2-0 European U-21 Championship qualifying win over Norway, with Fabio Miretti taking to the field from the 72nd minute. The Azzurrini are now second in their qualifying group after three matches played.

In South America, Brazil suffered a second World Cup qualifying defeat in succession, going down 2-0 to Uruguay. Gleison Bremer was an unused substitute in his side’s encounter, with Brazil slipping down to third on the table after four games played.

Three Bianconeri were involved in international friendly action, with France overcoming Scotland 4-1, Adrien Rabiot remaining on the bench for the duration of his side’s success. The US men’s national team also registered a friendly victory, a 4-0 win over Ghana in a game which Timothy Weah took to the field from the start, while Weston McKennie came on in the 46th minute for Christian Pulisic, his compatriot he will face in Sunday’s encounter against Milan, the first fixture for the Bianconeri to resume our domestic campaign.
