The international fixtures are well and truly underway for the Bianconeri and yesterday's big game saw Italy defeat England at San Siro in the Nations League, in a repeat of the Euro 2020 final. Leonardo Bonucci started and captained the Azzurri in their 1-0 win, with the winning goal coming in the second half, as Giacomo Raspadori's stunning finish was the difference. Roberto Mancini's men now have the possibility of topping the group and qualifying for the Nations League semi-finals should they defeat Hungary in the final game of the group phase on September 26th.
Speaking of Italy-England, the day before had Fabio Miretti and Nicolò Fagioli feature for the Under 21s against their English counterparts, who beat them 0-2 in Pescara. Also on Thursday, Poland, with Wojciech Szczesny starting in goal, were beaten at home by the Netherlands 0-2, with Arek Milik entering the pitch as a substitute.
Last night also saw a 2-0 victory for Japan against Weston McKennie's United States in a friendly match, whilst Argentina with Leandro Paredes on the pitch and Angel Di Maria on the bench overcame Honduras 3-0 in Miami. And finally in France, Brazil beat Ghana 3-0, with Bremer making his national team debut, as Danilo remained on the bench.
TONIGHT'S FIXTURES
Tonight in the Nations League, Serbia with Filip Kostic and Dusan Vlahovic will take on Sweden and late into the night there's a friendly in New Jersey for Juan Cuadrado' Colombia against Guatemala.
