Kenan Yildiz's impressive run at Euro 2024 continues, as Turkey, fueled by a passionate home crowd (which has turned the stadiums red in every match), advanced to the quarterfinals after beating Austria in the Round of 16.
The hero of Turkey's victory was Merih Demiral, who scored a historic brace for his country, breaking the deadlock in the first minute of the game and doubling the lead in the 59th minute. This allowed Vincenzo Montella's men to take a sweet revenge on Austria after their 6-1 defeat a few months ago.
Kenan Yildiz started the match in the attacking midfield and played for 78 minutes. He is now ready to face another big challenge against the Netherlands in the quarterfinals, scheduled for Saturday, July 6th at 9 PM CEST.
