"It was a very important victory putting us in a good position in the championship, but it's not over yet," said Mattia De Sciglio to the Sky and Mediaset microphones today in Vinovo after Wednesday night's win over Atalanta. "We've still got ten games including three top-six matches in the last month so we'll have to avoid any lapses in concentration."
WINNING MENTALITY
"Probably the most important blow from the psychological point of view was Dybala's goal at the end against Lazio," explained De Sciglio. "If Juventus feels less pressure, this is due to the habit of playing every season with this type of burden, keeping the rhythm while facing three competitions until the end. Here, there is a winning mentality and right when I arrived at the team and got involved, I see how we've won six Scudettos in a row."
CLEAN SHEETS GALORE**
Nothing is won yet, however, and the attitude must stay the same: "First of all, you need your head. We must always stay focused, always on point, without giving an inch, even in games that may seem a little easier than others. We will have to enter the field and treat every match as if it's a final."
The trademark airtight Bianconeri defense has returned in the process: "Compared to the first matches of the season, in which we were a bit looser, we've found our form. Every shutout we get gives us more confidence and it's very rewarding for us as defenders. It means we've done our job well."
GONZALO & PAULO: TWO LEADERS
The return of Gonzalo and Paulo to top form have only served to further buoy Bianconeri spirits: "Gonzalo and Paulo are two players of great quality, two of our leaders. "They are giving us a big boost and playing off each other, as we've seen in recent matches. They're combining very well and It's good for us to have them."
WHO'S NEXT IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE?
The Champions League draw looms on Friday: "At this point, there's only strong teams left. To reach the final, you have to face them all. Whoever our opponent is, we will have to be at our top, top level to get as far as possible. We've reached two finals in the least three years and have grown a lot at the European level. We certainly are aspiring to achieve important things."
Is the treble still on? "It's right for us to be ambition and have big goals, but we have to think game by game rather than being obsessed with a treble...however, it must be a goal!"
