International football is back at Allianz Stadium tonight! Azzurri defenders, Daniele Rugani and Mattia De Sciglio, may have the opportunity to represent their country at their club arena as Roberto Mancini’s Italy take on a Holland team managed by Ronald Koeman.
This is the third friendly in the space of seven days for Gli Azzurri under Mancini and their fourth ever appearance at Allianz Stadium, where they are so far unbeaten following a victory over Czech Republic in 2013, in which Giorgio Chiellini got on the scoresheet, and two draws (both 1-1) against England in 2015 and Spain in 2016.
Rugani and De Sciglio will not be the only Bianconeri flying their national flags tonight. Medhi Benatia is on captain’s duty again for Morocco in their friendly against Slovakia at 20.00 CEST in Geneva, Switzerland.
Yesterday’s results saw Brazil beat Croatia 2-0 at Anfield, with Douglas Costa and Mario Mandzukic both rested. Meanwhile, Stephan Lichtsteiner played approximately half an hour for Switzerland in their 1-1 draw against Spain.
