In the competition there is a favourable previous encounter, 13 months ago, in what was the second leg of the quarter-finals.

The opening 90 minutes at Inter finished 1-1. So, for the return leg Montemurro opted for his tried and tested 4-3-3 set-up: Peyraud-Magnin in goal; Lenzini, Gama, Sembrandt and Boattin in defence; Rosucci, Pedersen and Grosso in midfield; in attack, Bonansea, Hurtig and Cernoia.

In the fifteenth minute Juve took the lead following an assist from Martina Lenzini for Barabara Bonansea. The number 11 found herself free in the box to tap home the cross.

NO DANGER

Inter needed a goal to keep their hopes alive, but Juve were in no mood to allow their opponents a route back into the match. Pauline Peyraud-Magnin was asked to deal with a Tatania Bonetti free-kick, which was not particularly dangerous.

The score remained unchanged. Juve came out 2-1 victors on aggregate to continue their run in the competition, which would see them go all the way to lifting the cup and claim a first domestic treble.
