Needing a win to guarantee advancement to the knockout rounds, Juan Cuadrado and Colombia did just that finding a 1-0 win over Senegal.

In a closely-fought encounter that saw Cuadrado play all 90 minutes, Yerry Mina's 74th minute header was the difference at the Samara Arena.

The victory combined with Poland's 1-0 win over Japan means Colombia have advanced as group winners despite losing the first match of the group.

Colombia will play a tricky round of 16 matchup against whoever finishes second between England and Belgium.
