A difficult week comes to an end for Juventus. The Bianconeri lost 3-0 away to Fiorentina on Serie A Matchday 29.

The match

Despite looking to attack early on and Timothy Weah being the first to press forward from either side, the hosts reacted immediately. Khephren Thuram also looked to force things for the Bianconeri, but it wasn’t to be.

And after some early ventures forward from Juve, Fiorentina went ahead after 15 minutes through Robin Gosens, who pounced as a loose ball fell to him in the box to beat Michele Di Gregorio.

The lead was doubled just minutes later through Rolando Mandragora.

Two goals behind, the Bianconeri tried to fight back. Renato Veiga struck from the edge of the box in the 24th minute, but his left-footed shot was blocked by Danilo Cataldi. In the 29th minute, it was Teun Koopmeiners’ turn to try with his left foot from distance, but his aim was off and the ball flew high over the crossbar.

The hosts threatened again towards the end of the half, but there were to be no more goals before the break.

After the restart, Juventus looked to attack knowing a goal was needed, and Weston McKennie had a good chance but Luca Ranieri did well to stop it. Then Renato Veiga had another, but David De Gea stopped it.

Moise Kean looked for Fiorentina’s third, but it was Albert Gudmundsson who got it.

Kean thought he had a fourth, but the offside flag thwarted him.

Other chances fell Juventus’ way through Randal Kolo Muani, and Andrea Cambiaso looked to force things in his time on the pitch, but there was to be no goal for the Bianconeri.
